Huntingdon County Recycling Program has partnered with J.J. Recycling to bring you curbside recycling options.

RECYCLING DROP OFF SITES

Park’s Transfer & Recycling Center
This is a facility which you can bring trash to for disposal. We take all type of household, construction and demolition waste. Priced by weight.

J.J. Recycling Center
This is a facility which you can bring trash to for disposal. They take E-waste and aluminum. Located at 900 Susquehanna Ave, Huntingdon, PA. No website so please call (814)643-6950.

BURGMEIER HAULING

Burgmeier Hauling is located 1/2 mile beyond Laney’s Feed Mill at 1421 Ice Plant Road, Huntingdon PA  16652.  Phone number is 1-800-491-8975 x 2301.

Important to remember:

  1. Recycling Bins must be at the curb before 7:00AM on the day of your pickup.
  2. Collections may be postponed due to snow or ice.  Call 1-800-491-8975 x 2301 for details
  3. Postponed collections will be made up the next day.  If extreme weather causes the make up to be cancelled, collections will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection date.

The following items are to be placed in Paper or Plastic Bags and put in the Green Recycling Bin and placed at the curb before 7:00AM on the day of your pickup.

  • Tin Cans – any soup, juice or vegetable can.  Must be clean (No food can remain).  Must be placed in Paper or Plastic bags.  Also includes metal lids from jars and/or bottles.
  • Aluminum Cans – Any soda, pop, juice or beer can.  Must be placed in Paper or Plastic bags.
  • Newspaper – Anything that comes within a newspaper.  Must be in a Paper bag or tied with String.  No junk mail.
  • Clear Glass – Any clear glass food or beverage container.  No vases, pyrex, drinking glasses, window glass, glass candle jars or perfume bottles.  Must be clean (No food can remain).  Must be placed in Paper or Plastic bags.  All lids must be removed (Metal lids can go in with tin cans).
  • #1 Plastic Bottles – Any plastic bottle with a #1 inside a triangle that contained a liquid.  This includes but not limited to: ketchup bottles, salad dressing, soda bottles, water bottles, juice bottles, etc.  They can be any color but black.  No Black Bottles!!  Not Motor Oil Bottles!!  All lids must be removed.  Must be clean (No food can remain).  Must be placed in Paper or Plastic Bags
  • #2 Plastic Bottles – Any plastic bottle with a #2 inside a triangle that contained a liquid.  This includes but not limited to laundry detergent jugs, yellow milk jugs, cat litter jugs, regular mild jugs, etc.  All lids must be removed.  Must be clean (No food or soap can remain).  Must be place in Paper or Plastic Bags.

DROP OFF ITEMS

  • Magazines – Any reading material that has glossy pages MUST be separated from the Newspapers.
  • Green Glass – Any green glass food or beverage container.  Must be clean (No food can remain).  Must be placed in Paper or Plastic bag.  All lids must be removed (Metal lids can go in with tin cans).
  • Corrugated Cardboard – Any cardboard container.  Must be dry.  No waxed containers.  No oil soaked containers.
  • Christmas Trees – Christmas Trees Only.  No wreaths, no metal.  All plastic bags must be removed.  Must be brought to the recycling center.  DO not leave at gate.  Must be dropped off by JAN. 30th.
