Maintenance
Maintenance Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2:00pm.
This committee is made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain the borough roadways, parks, properties, hydrants, drains, and much more. Meetings include the business of approving prior month’s meeting minutes, reports from the Maintenance Department Superintendent, and the Borough Supervisor, a rundown of the Open Issues, and any necessary public partners or the general public (signed in visitors).
Water & Sewer
Water & Sewer Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm.
This committee is made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain the Borough Water system and the Borough Wastewater (Sewer) system. This includes improvements, maintenance, and concerns about both the Water plant located on Water Works Alley and the Wastewater (Sewer) plant located on Snyder’s Run Road. Meetings include the business of approving prior month’s meeting minutes, reports from Borough engineer, Borough Water Supervisor, Borough Sewer Supervisor and any other necessary partners, or public (signed in visitors).
Community Development
Community Development Committee meets the first Tuesday of the month at 3:30pm.
This committee is made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain the ongoing development of the Huntingdon Borough community via infrastructure, residential and commercial development, beautification and restoration of historic landmarks and much more. Meetings include the business of approving prior month’s meeting minutes, reports from Grant’s Administrator, the Mayor, Borough Manager and any other necessary public partners, which can include, ReInvision Huntingdon, Juniata College, etc., or general public (signed in visitors).
Public Safety
Public Safety Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00pm.
This committee is made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain the Borough Police Department, parking, street maintenance, ordinance code violations and much more. Meetings include the business of approving prior months’ meeting minutes, reports from the Code Enforcement Officer, the Police Chief, the Borough Mayor, and any other necessary public partners or the general public (signed in visitors).
Parks, Recreation, Public Properties
Parks & Recreation Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5:00pm.
This committee made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain recreational spaces owned by Huntingdon Borough. This includes improvements, maintenance, and concerns about Portstown Park, Flagpole Hill, Weaver Park, Merchant Park (Sixth Street), and Blair Park. Meetings include the business of approving last month’s meeting minutes, any reports from necessary partners, which can include Boomtown Huntingdon, the Borough Tree commission, ReInvision Huntingdon, etc., or general public (signed in visitors).
Administration Committee meets the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30pm.
This committee is made up of 3 council members, one acting as committee chair. The job of this committee is to supervise and maintain the Annual budget and audit, health care agreements for employees, union contracts, 911 dispatch contracts, etc. Meetings include the business of approving prior month’s meeting minutes, reports from Borough Manager, 911 Director, Borough Solicitor, Borough Mayor, a rundown of the Open Issues, and any necessary public partners or the general public (signed in visitors).
